ANATEMA

No podemos considerarlas como producto de la revelación divina, tal como nos lo dice la religión misma, ni de ninguna otra causa sobrenatural, si encontramos que ellas mismas tienen un origen natural. Y, en efecto, tal origen puede hallarse.
Las concepciones de lo sobrenatural y las ideas religiosas en general deben su origen, en primer lugar, al desamparo y la ignorancia de los hombres frente a la naturaleza. Las fuerzas que los hombres no pueden entender se personifican; son representadas como una manifestación de la actividad de los espíritus”.
